Instagram for Your Business
I’ve had an Instagram business account since 2017 but to be honest I’ve never really made the most of it (time is usually the issue), but it’s that whole mastering another social media platform…and I admit I have been very much a poster and runner.
I have the basics down but recently I wanted to investigate Instagram a little further, focus on my account and pass the information onto you. This is what I’ve learned on my IG journey so far about some key parts of Instagram you should know.
What is Instagram?
Instagram is a visual social media platform. Similar to Facebook and Twitter every Instagram account has a profile and a newsfeed.
Just like other similar platforms the emphasis is ‘social’ media and not ‘sales’ media.
Do I Need an Instagram Account?
I’m a huge believer in picking two social media platforms and mastering them instead of trying to juggle several. It’s just too big of a job to manage all of them and at the end of the day you’ve also got a business to run.
According to eMarketer it is estimated there are 1.074 billion users on Instagram in 2021.
I do think that EVERBODIES ideal customer is either on Instagram or Facebook so mastering either of these is a good skill to have.
Instagram Profile Top Tips
Your Instagram newsfeed / homepage is where you do your scrolling. Your image/graphic takes up what is known as prime Instagram ‘REAL ESTATE’
You also need a good HOOK to make the scroller want to click more.
